Jeff Gettis

Welcome to my website. I am an artist from Torrington, Connecticut. The subject matter found in my paintings, pastels, and prints stem from the natural world. A starting point for me can be choosing one or more of the many photographs I take during hikes on surrounding trails. I call these photographs "Idea Sparkers" and they are used to create most of my landscape work. I am currently using animals as a main source of inspiration. I'm interested in the colors and endless textures that nature provides and how I can manipulate them into a cohesive composition and mood that work together to create an emotional response.
