Landscape art for sale.This scene was found overlooking The East Branch Dam in Torrington, Connecticut. The arrangement of the trees and the warm subtle tones created by the late afternoon sun is what struck me about this scene. It has a very calming effect

About Jeff Gettis
Welcome to my website. I am an artist from Torrington, Connecticut. The subject matter found in my paintings, pastels, and prints stem from the natural world. A starting point for me can be choosing one or more of the many photographs I take during hikes on surrounding trails. I call these photographs "Idea Sparkers" and they are used to create most of my landscape work. I am currently using animals as a main source of inspiration. I'm interested in the colors and endless textures that nature provides and how I can manipulate them into a cohesive composition and mood that work together to create an emotional response.
