This scene overlooks The Barkhamsted Reservoir located in Connecticut. A very hot looking evening. the brooding orange clouds grabs the attention and is in contrast to the calm reservoir. their is also some very limited greens used and if you look close the furthest mountain is purple.

About Jeff Gettis
Welcome to my website. I am an artist from Torrington, Connecticut. The subject matter found in my paintings, pastels, and prints stem from the natural world. A starting point for me can be choosing one or more of the many photographs I take during hikes on surrounding trails. I call these photographs "Idea Sparkers" and they are used to create most of my landscape work. I am currently using animals as a main source of inspiration. I'm interested in the colors and endless textures that nature provides and how I can manipulate them into a cohesive composition and mood that work together to create an emotional response.
